What Is the Best Way to Run MiniMax H3 Online?

The cheapest way to run MiniMax H3 without counting seconds is Mage, where unlimited H3 generation starts at $30 a month and comes with the plan rather than a countdown. Flat-rate H3 does turn up elsewhere, almost always as a promotion: Pollo AI is running one on its $109 Ultra tier, OpenArt has run one on Wonder, and Runway's on the Max plan has already ended. Melius, Higgsfield and MiniMax's own Hailuo app bill H3 by the second.

MiniMax published H3's weights in August, but the community licence grants no rights at all in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom or South Korea. So for most readers, somebody else's graphics processing unit (GPU) is the only licensed way to touch this model.

What Makes One MiniMax H3 Host Different From Another?

Every option below runs the same underlying model, announced July 31, 2026 and open-weighted on August 3. H3 sits at #3 for image-to-video and #2 for video editing on the Artificial Analysis with-audio leaderboards as of September 9, 2026. So the model isn't the variable. These 4 things are.

Whether You Pay By the Second

H3 generates its own stereo audio in the same pass as the picture, which makes it expensive to serve and expensive to meter. Most hosts charge per second of output.

Flat-rate H3 mostly shows up as a limited offer at $109 a month and up, and those offers close. Mage is the exception, where it sits in the plan at $30. On a model you'll re-roll 8 times to get 1 usable shot, which end you're on decides your bill.

Which H3 Variants It Carries

There's base H3 for quality and a faster, cheaper Max line that trades resolution for speed. Some hosts carry 1, some carry 3. If you're storyboarding, you want the cheap variant for exploration and the good one for the final pass, in the same place.

Whether References and Frames Can Run Together

H3 takes up to 9 reference images, 3 video clips and 3 audio clips, 12 files in total, and audio has to be paired with at least one image or video. It also takes a first frame and a last frame. On most hosts those 2 systems are mutually exclusive, and which one you're allowed to combine changes what you can actually build.

Whether You Can Bring a Low-Rank Adaptation File

Those files, better known as LoRAs, are small fine-tunes you stack on top of the base model. H3's weights are out, so people are already training them. Whether a host lets you import that work, train one inside the platform, or neither, is the difference between a general-purpose model and one that makes your thing.

1. Mage

Mage added H3 and H3 Turbo with unlimited generations on Pro, Pro Plus and Max on September 5. At $30 a month it's the cheapest way to stop counting, at under a third the price of the next flat-rate option, and it is not a promotion that closes.

What it does well:

  • Unlimited H3 and H3 Turbo generations on Pro and above, with no per-second charge

  • Fully compatible with Characters, References and Character Voices, so H3 slots into the same character workflow as the rest of the platform

  • Supports First and Last Frames

  • LoRA support, up to 1 simultaneous on Pro Plus and 2 on Max, with unlimited H3 LoRA imports on those same 2 tiers, added by pasting in a link

  • Runs in the browser, so there's no install and no hardware ceiling

H3 rewards volume more than most video models. It's a reference-driven model, and getting 9 images, a video clip and an audio bed to resolve into the shot you pictured takes more attempts than a text prompt does. Per-second billing punishes exactly that.

The LoRA path is the other half of it. Mage takes an outside H3 LoRA by link, and the import flow is the same one used for image models, so a fine-tune you trained elsewhere runs here as many times as you want.

The catch: H3 tops out at 768p on Mage, and no tier generates it higher. Higgsfield, Runway and Hailuo all reach 2K on their metered plans. Fast Mode, 768p and the 15-second length are Gems upgrades rather than part of unlimited, so the unmetered tier is the shorter, smaller version of the model. And it's a subscription, so 1 render costs you a month.

Best for: anyone iterating hard on reference-driven shots at social resolution, and anyone running an outside H3 LoRA at volume.

2. Melius

Melius runs a node-based canvas that AI agents build and operate alongside you. H3 is one node in that graph. You describe the shot, the agent wires up the workflow and picks a model for each step, and nothing it does is hidden from you.

What it does well:

  • Carries 3 H3 tiers: H3, H3 Max, and H3 Max Turbo at half the credits of H3 Max per second

  • Shot chaining as a native canvas move: drag one node's Last frame output into the next node's Starting frame input and build a sequence H3 can't produce in a single generation

  • 85 models across image, video, audio and text on one subscription, selectable per node

  • Every prompt the agent writes stays visible and editable, so a near-miss is a tweak to one node instead of a fresh start

  • Multiplayer canvas on every tier, so several people and several agents work the same graph at once

The chaining is the reason to be here. H3 caps at 15 seconds and has no native multi-shot, so a 45-second spot means 3 generations that have to match. Wiring last frame to first frame across nodes turns that into one graph you re-run when the brief changes, instead of 3 separate jobs you hand-match afterwards.

It's also the only option here that doesn't ask you to choose the model every time. The agent routes per step, so H3 gets used where it's the right call and something else gets used where it isn't. You still direct the shot and you still edit any step you don't like; what goes away is the wiring.

The catch: H3's credit cost is not published anywhere, so you can't price a project before you sign up. Only base H3 appears on the public model registry, and the 2 Max tiers show up in the docs. Both of those cap at 768p, so the H3 you can actually read the specs for is the small one.

Best for: teams building multi-shot sequences on a shared canvas, and anyone who wants H3 reachable from a script.

3. Higgsfield

Higgsfield runs H3 at 2K, 5 to 15 seconds, with the stereo audio intact, and sells it hard on the multi-reference pitch. Instruction editing works: swap a product, relight a scene from day to night, rewrite a line of dialogue, and the parts you didn't touch hold still.

What it does well:

  • 2K, which Higgsfield defines as 1440 pixels on the short edge, at 24fps, with dialogue, sound effects and ambience generated alongside the picture

  • Start and End Frame controls in a tab of their own

  • Up to 9 images, 3 videos and 3 audio files per generation, referenced in the prompt by slot as Image 1, Video 2, Audio 3

  • Voice transfer and cloning from a reference recording

  • Prompts up to 7,000 characters

  • A published credit price: 20 credits for 5 seconds at 2K, 40 for 10, 60 for 15

The product-ad use case is where this one lands. Feed it packaging shots, ask for a spot, and the text on the box stays legible while the voiceover generates with the picture. That's a narrow trick and Higgsfield has aimed at it deliberately.

The catch: the dollar figures printed next to those credit prices assume 5 cents a credit, which no Higgsfield plan charges. On Starter that 5-second clip costs about $1.41, not the $1 advertised. Starter is $19 a month for 270 credits and the worst credit rate Higgsfield sells, which works out to roughly 13 clips of 5 seconds. H3 is also missing from the pricing comparison table entirely, where 108 other models are priced, so the only published H3 price sits in a blog post.

Best for: product and advertising work where the reference stack is the brief.

4. Runway

Runway puts H3 in a workspace that already has an editing suite attached, which is the argument. Generate at 2K, then push the result through Upscale Video to 4K for delivery, or into Edit Studio to restyle it while the motion holds. No other option here finishes the job in the same place it started it.

What it does well:

  • 2K and 768p, any whole second from 5 to 15

  • Up to 9 image references, 3 video references and 3 audio references, 12 files in total

  • First frame, or first and last, as keyframes

  • Sits alongside Kling, Veo, Seedance, Wan and Gemini Omni Flash, so you can pick a different model per shot without leaving

  • 4K upscaling from the Standard plan up, unlimited from Pro

Runway is clear about what it wants H3 for: replacing a character in a reference video with a subject from an image, while the original camera motion survives. That's the multi-reference case, and having Aleph 2.0 downstream to fix what comes back is what makes it a workflow.

The catch: keyframes cannot be combined with reference inputs, stated twice in Runway's own documentation. Video references cost 13 credits per second of reference footage on top of 15 credits per second of output, so a 10-second 2K clip driven by 10 seconds of reference runs 280 credits, and Standard's monthly 625 buys 2 of those. Runway also never says whether H3's audio reaches the output; every audio mention on its H3 pages is about references going in, and its model cards do call out native sound on Veo, Wan, Kling and Seedance. The floor is 5 seconds, so you lose the model's cheapest 4-second option.

Best for: anyone who needs the clip finished, upscaled and graded without changing tools.

5. Hailuo - by MiniMax

MiniMax made the model, and its own app gets both variants plus the 2 server-side stages nobody else can replicate. H3-Context-IR reads your text, images, audio and video together before generation and rewrites them into something the model reads better. H3-Regenerate-2K is the 2K pass every other host has to buy from MiniMax. Neither shipped with the open weights, and MiniMax says the second one will come later.

What it does well:

  • Both H3, at 4 to 15 seconds and 768p or 2K, and H3 Max, at 5 to 15 seconds and 480p or 768p

  • 32kHz stereo audio, decoded from the same pass as the video

  • An Omni Reference mode with the full 12-file allowance

  • Instruction-driven editing across image, video and audio, which is the capability the model was built around

  • Veo, Sora, the older Hailuo lines and a full image roster on the same subscription

The 4-second floor matters more than it sounds. Every other host starts at 5, and on a metered model that second is a fifth of your cost on the shortest clip.

The catch: MiniMax sells unlimited generation and H3 is excluded from it. The unlimited tiers cover Hailuo 1.0, 2.0 and 2.3, so even on Max at $199.99 a month H3 burns metered credits with no fallback. Standard runs 1 generation at a time with 8 queued, and the free tier watermarks downloads.

Best for: anyone who wants the 2K regeneration path and the prompt front end exactly as MiniMax built them.

Working With MiniMax H3 on Mage

  1. Open the Advanced view and select the MiniMax-H3 model architecture, or go straight to the H3 play page.

  2. Attach your references. Images carry subject and style, a video clip carries motion, an audio clip carries pacing.

  3. Add a Character if you want a face to hold across shots, and a Character Voice if it needs to speak.

  4. Set First and Last Frames if you're building toward a specific end position.

  5. For a longer or sharper pass, turn on Fast Mode, pick 768p and select 15 seconds. Those 3 run on Gems.

  6. Generate as many times as you like. On Pro and above it costs the same either way.

A reference-led prompt to start from:

A rain-soaked neon alley at night, slow dolly forward past a figure in a long coat, shallow depth of field, distant traffic and dripping water in the audio bed, 21:9

What 15 Seconds of H3 Actually Costs

Say you're making a 15-second clip and it takes 8 attempts to get 1 you'd keep, which is not a pessimistic number on a reference-driven model.

On Higgsfield that's 60 credits a run at 2K, so 480 credits, more than Starter's entire monthly 270 and 40% of Plus's 1,200. On Runway at 15 credits a second it's 225 a run, 1,800 for the 8, nearly 3 months of Standard. On Hailuo at roughly 12 credits a second it's about 180 a run, 1,440 total, against Standard's 1,000. Melius won't quote you a number until you're inside.

Flat-rate moves the question somewhere else entirely. The 8 attempts cost the same as 1 on Mage at $30, and on Pollo AI at $109 for as long as its offer runs.

So what you're really choosing between is 768p on a flat plan and 2K on a meter. If the work is going to social, the cheap end is the whole model you need. If it is going to a client at delivery resolution, budget for the second pass.

Your First H3 Shot

Pick something with a reference in it, because that's what this model is for. A product on a surface, lit the way you want it. A character you already have, walking into a room. A 10-second establishing shot you've been describing to people in words.

Then make it 8 times and keep the one that works. Start on Mage and have fun creating!
