Introducing Gems
We’re beyond excited to launch a brand-new credit system: Gems. Alongside our unlimited generations through Mage Memberships, Gems offer a new way to unlock external models moving forward. Check it out here! https://www.mage.space/membership?v=gems

How It Works

  • Pay-as-you-go: Gems are a flexible credit system — NOT a monthly subscription

  • Membership required: An active Mage Membership is required to use Gems

  • Expiration: Unused Gems expire after 90 days

  • Application: Gems are required to access external models

Flux Kontext Is Here
The first external model architectures available via Gems are Flux Kontext Pro and Flux Kontext Max. With Flux Kontext, you can modify an input image using simple text instructions — unlocking flexible and instant image editing.

  • Kontext Pro: Fast, iterative image editing,

  • Kontext Max: High-quality image editing with multi-image capability. Insert multiple images and guide the edits with text!,

  • Where to find: Advanced → Select Model Architecture → Kontext Pro / Kontext Max,

Why Gems?
The AI space is evolving rapidly. We’ve seen incredible image and video models that excel in specific areas, but many are external and only available via the creators’ APIs. That means we don’t control their infrastructure or pricing. Mage Gems is our solution: a way to give you access to these external models without disrupting our unlimited generation model.

What About Mage Memberships?
No changes here! Mage Memberships still include unlimited generations for all internal models. We’ll continue adding powerful open-source models to the membership tiers!

Notes on Pricing & Limitations
The cost of offering external models can be unpredictable. We’ll do our best to give you access to as many external models as possible, but pricing and availability may shift over time as we work to keep Mage sustainable.

Also, since these models are hosted externally, we don’t have full control — so some limitations on freedom of expression may apply.
